The M-60, (the pig) GPMG was a bad copy of the German GPMG. The U.S. tried to convert the German GPMG to the American 30-06 round, but because of some mistakes in calculations the American copies kept blowing up. Our combat helmets are the German combat helmet, just made out of a different material which we probably got from the Germans also.
